Equity-Minded Innovation Leader To Oversee Tech Leadership Post
Oakwood SchoolOakwood School, a K-12 coeducational day school in North Hollywood, California that opened its doors in 1951, announces the hiring of Stacie Muñoz as its inaugural director of educational innovation and technology services. Since 2016, Ms. Muñoz has worked at Urban School in San Francisco, a progressive high school known for its forward-thinking technology program. At Urban, was the director of educational technoogy, coordinator for the Bay Area BlendEd Consortium, and LatinX affinity space advisor. Ms. Muñoz will oversee all aspects the technology department, from IT and support to instructional technology and design. Oakwood is a two-campus progressive school with a long history of delivering whole-child education.
Meet the new leader
Stacie began her educational career at Windward School in Los Angeles. For five years, she worked at Garrison Forest School in Maryland, where she was the upper school digital learning specialist and a residential life faculty member. For the last five years, she has worked at Urban School in San Francisco, leading the technology program as well as many other initiatives. Stacie brings a passion for technology, innovation, and equity, and has delivered numerous presentations on these topics throughout the country. She holds a B.A. in Cinematic Arts from University of Southern California and a masters in international and multicultural education from the University of San Francisco.
